I'm 16 and have moderate acne.The last time I had actually clear skin was when I was 10.I've seen many dermatologists(taken many meds that haven't worked) andam currently on two medications for my acne.I was hoping that I could find out some tips or remedies to help "alongside" my prescription medications. So i have been trying to get rid of acne and i've been switching between cetaphil, loreal go 360 clean and st.ives green tea scrub and none have really worked so i decided to try mixing baking soda and water… (i heard it gets rid of acne) and ever since then, MY FACE HAS BEEN SUPER RED! and it's not red because of acne because i dont have like ANY acne on my cheeks… I Put makeup On to cover it up but within 30 minutes it's red again!? What should i do?

I'm a 15-year-old girl. Oh yeah, I know what some of you might say. 'She is a teen, it is normal for her to stress over her looks'. But please, pay attention:

Since I was a little girl, I was very ugly according to society's standards. I was overweight, I wore glasses and braces, I had acne, no sense of style etc. When I turned 14 (that was last year), I decided to do myself a make over. I lost all the weight, I got rid of the glasses, I started wearing make-up and I bought new clothes. People were astonished and said I looked like a goddess.
But still, I feel very ugly and extremely embarrassed about the way I look. I don't talk to people or look them in the eye so that I won't have them looking at my face. I feel like people always comment on my bad looks behind my back and this is killing me. No one calls me ugly anymore, but I feel like I am. School is a living hell, because so many people are around and some of them might look at me.
Please, help me. I have distanced myself from all my friends and I'm getting depressed because of it :/

You are right, you are a teen and feeling stressed out about your looks is normal, but instead of seeking mental health advice on yahoo answers, I'd suggest seeking a therapist.

The only thing I can see aside from that is taking up a hobby that will make you more assertive and self assured. Most martial arts are great for this and can keep you in shape.

I too was bullied when I was younger, I guess you could say I was a ugly duckling, but I matured and grew up. Joined the Army and found a lot of inner strength to cope with that feeling.

Facing your discomfort head on is the only way you'll be able to conquer it. Accepting that just because someone thinks one thing about you, doesn't make it true is a step.

Surround yourself with people you like and people that like you. Don't be afraid to fish for compliments but from a guys stand point of few – if a girl is sure of herself, whether she's a "Godess" or not, now that's sexy.

I am Indian and my skin is goldenish tan.I get pimples on my face that turn into brown scars. I started applying lemon juice to my entire face about a day ago. I use a moisturizer after I wash it off so my skin doesn't completely dry out. If I do this regularly for a few weeks-months, will it fade my scars and help the acne?
